Environmental Clean-Up Team at Lock Haven’s Dollar General

LOCK HAVEN – The Dollar General store at 16 E. Main St. in Lock Haven was still closed Friday morning, the lights on, the front door locked.

But workers were seen inside and a truck with Florida license plates was parked outside. The van was from AIT Environmental Technology, lettering describing the firm as a “Facilities Maintenance Company.” The vehicle also bore signage that said “Mold Removal – Indoor Air Quality Assessment- Disaster Response.”

A Dollar General employee who identified herself as from another company store was on the sidewalk outside but provided no information as to why the store was closed or when it might reopen.

The sign on the front door remained in place, stating “Closed until further notice.” A Dollar General spokesperson at mid-week issued a statement saying that “store conditions” were being addressed and the discount store will be kept closed “until matters can be resolved.”

The one-story business is located in a property owned by Lock Haven-based Realtylease Properties. Adjacent businesses in the same building were open for business as usual this week.
