George J. Fantaskey – Obituary
George J. Fantaskey, 93, a lifetime resident of Clinton Ave., South Renovo died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Bucktail Medical Center, S. Renovo.
Born January 31, 1926 in South Renovo a son of the late Paul and Anna (Polack) Fantaskey.
He was married 52 years to the former Cora B. Brantley who died April 19, 2013.
George worked for the Pennsylvania railroad for 22 years as a pipe fitter and then at Lock Haven University for over 20 years in the maintenance department.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and he attended St. Joseph Catholic School.
He was a veteran of WW II where he served in the Navy for two years.
Surviving are a daughter Linda (Ray) Logue of South Renovo and three grandchildren; Lydia, Melissa and Ashley, seven great grandchildren; Amber, Jena, Sasha, Ebonee, Jaelynn, Bryce and Cora also six great-great grandchildren; Marka, River, Zyon, Cecelia, Mya and Drake.
He was preceded in death by five brothers; Andrew, Paul, Frederick, Harold and Stephen also five sisters; Mary, Ann, Helen, Pauline and Margaret.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 925 Huron Ave., Renovo with the Rev. Joseph Orr officiating.
Interment will follow with military honors at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Improvement Fund.
