Warren Tabbed Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK– Penn State senior tight end Tyler Warren was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. Warren earned his second Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week award this season.

The Nittany Lions have earned six Big Ten weekly awards this year. Junior safety Kevin Winston Jr. was Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week following the West Virginia game, junior defense end Abdul Carter was Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after the Illinois game and redshirt freshman kicker Ryan Barker was Big Ten Freshman of the Week following the USC game.

Tallied eight receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown, while adding three rushes for 63 yards and a score, at Purdue.
Earned fourth career 100-yard receiving game, tying Ted Kwalick (4; 1966-68) for the Penn State tight end record.
Warren’s three 100-yard receiving games this season are the most by a PSU tight end in a season and the most by any PSU player since Jahan Dotson’s five in 2021.
He hauled in his 16th career touchdown reception, tying Pat Freiermuth (16; 2018-20).
Warren’s 48-yard touchdown run, his longest career rush, was his sixth career rushing touchdown and fourth this season.
Since 1956, Warren is the seventh FBS true tight end with four rushing touchdowns in a season, joining Jaylen Samuels (NC State; 2015, 2016, 2017), Jordan Myers (Rice; 2021), Jordan Reed (Florida; 2010), Gerald Everett (South Alabama; 2015), Harold Fannin Jr. (Bowling Green; 2022) and James Mitchell (Virginia Tech; 2019).
Since 1956, Warren is the only Big Ten tight end with four rushing touchdowns in a season, breaking a tie with Wisconsin’s Stu Voigt (3; 1968) and Maryland’s Chigoziem Okonkwo (3; 2018).
All three of Warren’s rushes gained a first down and one went for a touchdown on Saturday.
He has 16 rushes this season. He has gained 13 first downs and scored four touchdowns.
Named a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award.
Selected a semifinalist for the Mackey Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year Award.

He owns 116 receptions for 1,414 yards and 16 touchdowns, while adding six rushing scores and a passing touchdown at Penn State. He has 20 career receptions of 20+ yards.
He has the most total touchdowns (22; 16 receiving, 6 rushing) all-time among Penn State tight ends.
He is 15th all-time at Penn State and second among PSU tight ends with 116 career receptions and second among PSU tight ends with 1,414 career receiving yards.
He is one of three active FBS tight ends (only Big Ten tight end) with 110+ receptions, 1,400+ receiving yards and 16+ receiving touchdowns in his career.
He currently has a 26-game reception streak and has at least one 14-yard catch in each of his last 16 games.
In 2024, he has 67 receptions for 808 yards and five touchdowns, while adding five rushing touchdowns and a passing touchdown.
Against Washington, Warren set Penn State season records for receptions and receiving yards, bettering Mike Gesicki’s 57 receptions for 679 yards in 2017.
His 67 receptions are sixth in a season at Penn State.
Among FBS tight ends in 2024, Warren ranks second in receiving yards (808; 1st in Power Four), receiving yards per game (80.8; 1st) and yards per reception (12.1; 1st, min. 60 catches), third in receptions (67; 1st) and 100-yard receiving games (3; 2nd) and ninth in receiving touchdowns (5; T-4th).
He’s also second among FBS tight ends with 24 receptions of 15+ yards this season and ranks second in percentage of catches for first downs (63%) among FBS tight ends with 60+ catches.
He’s tied for first among FBS tight ends with 11 red zone catches, while ranking second in 10+ yard receptions (35; 1st in P4) and tied for second in 25+ yard receptions (7; t-1st).
Caught a career-high 17 passes for a career-best 224 yards and one touchdown against USC.
Set a Penn State and Big Ten tight end record with 224 receiving yards, while joining Northwestern’s Jon Harvey (208 vs. Michigan, 1982) as the only Big Ten tight ends to go over 200 receiving yards in a game.
His 17 receptions are a Penn State record and tie the FBS tight end record, set by New Mexico’s Emilio Vallez in 1967 and matched by Harvey in 1982.
Warren’s 224 receiving yards are the second-most by a Penn State player, trailing only Jahan Dotson’s 242 yards at Maryland in 2021.
