DuBois Outlasts Wildcats, 3-2
BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – It was a close non conference matchup between the Wildcats and visiting DuBois on the tennis courts Thursday with the Beavers outlasting their hosts, 3-2.
Jimmy Oberlin picked uptimes the first win for DuBois with a 6-0, 6-2 effort over Gavyn Walker at No. 1 singles. At No. 2 singles, CM’s Morgan Talbot picked up a win Corey Giles, 6-4, 6-3. Ujjval Adroja trussed to lose, battling back for a third set win over the Beaver’s Noah Knarr, 3-6, 7-5, 10-5 at No. 3 singles.
Zach Johnson and Cody Jaconski picked up the next win of the day for DuBois just getting past the Wildcat duo Brady Williams and Jackson Walker, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 in a tie-breaker effort at No. 1 doubles. At No. 2 doubles, Blaze Wolpott and Houston Hemke of DuBois earned a 6-4, 6-3 win over the ‘Cat’s Ethan Hall and Leisher Gugino.
Central Mountain is now 5-8 on the season and will next take to the courts at Altoona for the District 6 team tournament on Monday, May 6, 2019.
