Walker, Talbot Split at D6 Singles

ALTOONA – It was a bittersweet day for two members of the Central Mountain boys’ tennis team as they participated in the PIAA District 6 singles tournament on Wednesday.

CM’s Gavyn Walker picked up a 6-2, 6-2 first round win over Collin Bennett of Mifflin County, then Walker fell to No. 1 seed, Rami Alkhafaji of Hollidaysburg, 6-1, 6-0 in the quarterfinal round.

Wildcat, Morgan Talbot picked up a first round win over Corey Giles of DuBois after falling behind early, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 then Talbot fell to No. 3 seed, Jonah Brandt of Altoona, 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals.
