Golden Tigers Strike Early, Down Central Mountain Boys by 70-34

BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – The Hollidaysburg boys’ basketball team came out in sync Thursday night, the Central Mountain Wildcats did not. The visiting Golden Tigers worked the ball well early on and coasted to a 70-34 win.
For the Wildcats, it was their third game in four days but coach Tyler Bardo did not use the workload as an excuse. He praised Hollidaysburg for establishing its presence inside in opening an 18-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Tiger junior Josh Holsopple did the early damage, hitting a 3-pointer to start the game, then went to work inside as part of his 9-point first quarter. Senior guard Sam Servello added 5 first-period points, including the first of his five 3-pointers on the night; Servello would finish with a game high 19 points as Holsopple finished with 15.
Central Mountain never did get untracked offensively, tying a season low for points scored with 34, the same number achieved in a 55-34 loss at Mifflinburg in January.
Collin Jones was the only ‘Cat in double figures with 11; Jake Skrtich and Conner Soo followed with 6 each. JT Pentz, Aiden Major and Cade McCloskey all had 2 each.
The lost left the Wildcats at 5-15 with a trip set for this Saturday to Mifflin County (0-20).
