Vinton “Ray” Schenck II – Obituary
Vinton “Ray” Schenck II, 92, of Renovo, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018 at Bucktail Medical Center with his family by his side. Ray was born Jan. 24, 1926 in Renovo, the son of the late Vinton and Mary (Garman) Schenck.
Ray worked for the United Postal Service, Berwick Forge and Fabricating, United Chem Con and for the PA Railroad as a tower operator. He also assisted at the Kettle Creek Tackle shop.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Lucas) Schenck, four sons, Steven (Kay) Schenck of WV, Stanley (Terrie) Schenck of Renovo, Vinton III “Vinny” (Wendy Hess) Schenck of Renovo, Raymond “Mark” Prebble of North Bend; a daughter, Karen (Prebble) Probst of Tamarack; 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren and several neices & nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert “Bob” of York and William “Billy” of Florida and a sister, Ruth Carl of East Renovo.
A funeral service to honor the life of Vinton “Ray’ Schenck II will be held Saturday, Nov 17, 2018 at 11 am at The North Bend United Methodist Church. Visitation for friends and family will be from 10-11 a.m. Pastor Doug Conway will officiate. The family asks for memorial contributions to be made to The North Bend United Methodist Church, 41 Main Street, North Bend, PA 17760
