Substitute Teacher from Clinton County Charged with Sexual Assault of 15-Year-Old
JERSEY SHORE – A Salona woman has been charged with sexual assault in a case involving a 15-year-old male, a student at Jersey Shore High School. Authorities said the woman, Alexandria Kaluzny, 25, was a student teacher in the Jersey Shore School District when she met the young man.
Kaluzny is also alleged to have used social media to send sexually explicit pictures of herself to the youth.
Pennlive filed this report:
The Mansfield University graduate, who was on the substitute list of several school districts, was arrested Thursday and released on $75,000 supervised bail.
Kaluzny was a student-teacher for one of the boy’s classes during the 2017 spring semester and sexual contact between the two started that summer, after the school year had been completed, the arrest affidavit states.
The teen told investigators they had sex that summer and this summer in Jersey Shore in her car and behind his garage. She had a box of condoms in the middle console of her car, authorities said.
She acknowledged sending him a graphic picture of herself on Aug. 23 but claims it was intended for her sister, the affidavit states.
The teen had taken a screen shot of the picture and had it on his phone, the document states.
Pictures and chats were recovered during searches of their cell phones, Lycoming County Chief Detective William Weber said.
The teen’s father suspected inappropriate contact in 2017, but when he was questioned by school officials he denied it, Weber said.
When the youth in late August confirmed it, his father contacted law enforcement, he said. The teen received a picture from her as recently as Aug. 30 that said “hi babe,” the charges state.
Kaluzny is charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent and statutory sexual assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors, disseminating sexual materials, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication device.
