North Bend Company Lands Bridge Replacement Project near Coudersport

COUDERSPORT – Work to replace a bridge near Coudersport will start Monday, June 9 and will feature a detour. The bridge spans the Allegheny River on Toles Hollow Road, off of Route 6 just west of Coudersport. When work is complete, PennDOT will be able to remove the bridge from Potter County’s structurally deficient list and area drivers will enjoy travel across a modern, two-lane structure.

Originally built in 1894, the current one-lane bridge is 87 feet long and carries 290 vehicles each day. It will be replaced with a two-lane, single span, box beam structure.

The contractor for this $1 million job is LTT Trucking LLC of North Bend, Pa. All work, which is weather and schedule dependent, is expected to be complete by Nov. 17.

The replacement work requires closing the bridge and a detour will be in place. The detour uses T-325 (Toles Hollow Road), T-327 (Vader Hill Road), T-328 (Dutch Hill Road), Route 3015 (Inez Road/Dutch Hill Road/Borie Street) and Route 6. The closure and detour will be in effect June 9 through Oct. 3.

Overall work includes bridge replacement, paving, guide rail updates, drainage, repairs to the detour route, pavement markings, and miscellaneous items.

Drivers are reminded to follow official detour signs, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
