Our County Fair Is a Great County Fair; Don’t Miss It, Don’t Even Be Late

MACKEYVILLE – The 46th annual Clinton County Fair is up and running at the fairgrounds in Lamar Township.

While the official opening ceremony will not be until Sunday evening, Friday saw entry time and registration in a number of youth, 4-H and open exhibitor categories. Saturday is seeing more vendors checking in and setting up. Saturday is First Responders Day at the fair and a large number of volunteers were present for a variety of demonstrations, including from Union County-based STRIKE K-9 Search and Rescue.

Saturday’s musical entertainment is scheduled to be the Kels Lomison Band at the main stage at 8 p.m.

The fair’s official opening ceremonies will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. with the Fair Queens’ Contest to follow. The fair will run through Saturday, Aug. 4.
