JoNell B. Knisely – Obituary
JoNell B. Knisely, 86, of Bellefonte, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. Born on July 1, 1932 in Apollo, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herman G. and Netta (Watson) Moore. On October 1, 1954, she married the love of her life, Thomas “Tim” Edward Knisely, who preceded her in death on October 14, 2014 after sharing 60 years of marriage together.
JoNell was a graduate of Renovo High School. She worked as a telephone operator before starting her family. She, with her late husband, were previous owners of Knisely Electric in Bellefonte.
JoNell is survived by four children, Scott Knisely (Deneen) of Lock Haven, Douglas Knisely (Tai) of Lock Haven, JoDell Ralston (Ralph) of Bellefonte, and Tim Knisely (Karin) of Bellefonte; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Kellner, Leah Knisely, Audra Best, Erin Alvey, Haley Peters, Grant Ralston, Katelyn Knisely, and Hunter Knisely; and four great-grandchildren, Owen Knisely, Porter Kellner, Emme Kellner, and Dana Best. Also surviving are three brothers, Wayne Moore (Priscilla) of New York, Darrell Moore (Jan) of Washington State, Kent Moore (Cherie) of Florida, and one sister, Delphine Topper (Larry) of Virginia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Lorraine Fies.
JoNell was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Bellefonte for over 60 years. JoNell and Tim enjoyed going and “wintering” in Florida for more than 22 years. She especially enjoyed Friday nights with her long-time friends. JoNell loved to visit the residents at Centre Crest. She is remembered as a wonderful homemaker. She treasured the memories that were made while attending and watching her grandchildren’s various activities and was a very proud grandmother.
There will be a public viewing held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6-8pm at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. at 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. An additional viewing will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 10-11am at Faith United Methodist Church at 512 Hughes Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will immediately follow at the church with Rev. Andrew Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hall Cemetery in State College.
It is written that God entrusts us with a mission that begins the day we are born. This mission is completed in the most perfect way by completing it on one’s birthday. JoNell’s mission on Earth has been completed and she entered her eternal home on her birthday.
