City Beach Opening Monday Will Kick-off KCSD Summer Recreation Program
LOCK HAVEN – The summer recreation program of the Keystone Central School District in conjunction with Clinton County, the Clinton County Community Foundation, and nine sponsoring municipalities will again be available at no charge to area school aged children.
The City beach will be open this summer beginning Monday, June 11. The hours there will be 12 noon to 8 p.m. Monday through and including Sunday. The beach will close August 10. City of Lock Haven workers were putting the finishing touches on beach preparation on Friday.
Twelve playgrounds are scheduled to open on Monday, June 18 for an eight week program: Hammermill, Hoberman, Piper-Harmon and Bennage in Lock Haven; Castanea, Chapman Township, Flemington, Mill Hall, Renovo, South Renovo, Pine Creek Township (Woolrich) and Wayne Township (Mc Elhattan). All playgrounds will open at 9:30 a.m. The morning sessions end at noon Monday through Friday. All playgrounds except Mill Hall, Castanea, Flemington, Renovo, Wayne Township and Pine Creek Township have afternoon or evening sessions also: South Renovo will have afternoon sessions from 1 – 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday and all four city playgrounds have evening sessions which run from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All playgrounds will close August 11.
In cooperation with the Clinton County Penn State Cooperative Extension Office the youngsters will be presented a program on eating healthy and staying fit.
Also this year is a program provided by the Clinton County Women’s Center which deals with “Hands are not for Hitting”, Healthy Relationships”, and “Bullying.”
The summer recreation program of Keystone Central School District has always been considered an extension of the regular school year, and this year will be no exception.
