Bald Eagles Fall to No. 11 Slippery Rock, 59-23
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University football team (0-3) fell to No. 11 Slippery Rock University (3-0) today at home in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover action, 59-23.
Slippery Rock led 31-0 at halftime and led 45-0 before the Bald Eagles rallied and got the offense going in the fourth quarter.
A 30-yard field goal with 14:24 left in the game put LHU on the board.
Lock Haven quarterback Caleb Walton (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) threw a touchdown pass and rushed for a score to help spark the Bald Eagles late offensive surge. Walton threw for 268 yards on the day.
Shawn Seif (Harrisburg, Pa./Kutztown University) hauled in 11 passes and went over 100 yards receiving for the third straight game. He finished with 183 yards receiving and caught one touchdown pass. Through three games, Seif is averaging 183.3 receiving yards per game, which leads all PSAC wide receivers.
Kashim Buey (State College, Pa./Williamsport) rounded out the scoring with a four-yard TD catch. It was the first touchdown of Buey’s Bald Eagle career.
Destyn Woody (Easton, Pa./Notre Dame-Green Pond) led Lock Haven’s defense with a game-high 14 tackles. Defensive back Isaiah Flamer (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) was all over the field for LHU and finished with 12 tackles and a pass breakup. Kevin Chapple (Columbus, Ohio/Urbana) added 12 stops, including two for loss.
LHU heads to West Chester University(1-2) for Week 4 action next Saturday at 6 p.m.
