Weimer Jay Kibbe – Obituary

ObitArtWeimer Jay Kibbe, 87, of Williamsport, died on Monday, August 1, 2016 at his residence.

He was married on November 20, 1958 to the former Betty J. Hess, who survives, and they have celebrated 59 years as husband and wife.

Weimer was born on April 9, 1929 in Port Allegany and was the son of the late Ivan and Beeattress Kibbe.  He graduated from Roulette High School in 1947, attended Houghton College and then went on to graduate from Baptist Bible Seminary, Johnson City, NY in 1954.  He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War.  Weimer had worked at Rishels Furniture Co. and retired in 1991 then went to work at Weis for 12 ½ years.  He and his wife Betty were members of the Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1959, and was very active in the church for many years.  He was an avid reader.  He and his wife were very happy together and took great care of each other, especially in the later years.

In addition to his wife Betty, he is survived by one sister; Lillian Vanvelkinburg of Sacramento, CA.

There will be a public viewing 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport where the funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Pastor Joel Long will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors.

The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 West 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
