Obituary – Erin Elizabeth Miller

Erin Elizabeth Miller, 33 years old of Globe, Arizona passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2024 after a hard-fought battle with a brief illness. Erin passed away at her home in Globe, Arizona with her parents Kathy and Buck Shoemaker by her side.

Erin was born on July 4, 1990, to Kathy (Starr) Shoemaker and Rodney D. Miller.
She graduated from Central Mountain High School in 2008 with honors. In 2012 she graduated with honors from Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education with a secondary degree in mathematics. She went on to obtain her master’s in education in 2015 from Lock Haven University.

She moved to Arizona where she taught mathematics at the San Carlos Apache College on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in Arizona. In 2019 she started a new career with the Gila County Division of Elections where she was the Elections Assistant. She truly loved her job and coworkers, and they loved her.

Erin loved watching sports especially Penn State Football and collecting Little League World Series Pins. Erin loved to travel with her friend Jess Stevenson. They went on many adventures traveling across the United States.

Erin is survived by her parents Kathy (Starr) Shoemaker and Buck Shoemaker of Lock Haven and Rodney and Josephine Miller of Jackson, New Jersey. Her brother Ryan Miller of Lock Haven and her sister Tonya Shoemaker of Williamsport, her niece Ava Budd of Jersey Shore, Her grandmother Alice Miller of Lock Haven. She is survived by her uncles Steven Starr of Avis, Kenneth Starr of Lock Haven, Raymond Starr and Jeff Sheaffer of Mechanicsburg, Ronald (Tina) Miller and John (Marie) Shoemaker of Lock Haven and her aunts Diane Taylor, Cris (Tim) Fye, Lori (Craig) Buskirk, Tina Lesser of Lock Haven and Von (Diane) Shoemaker of Ontario. Also surviving is her friend since high school Jess Stevenson.

She is also survived by her many friends from Globe, Arizona. She will be greatly missed by her neighbors Richard and Yolanda Garcia and Eric and Cheryl Mariscal whose love and support during her Illness will not be forgotten.

She will be reunited with Speedy and Addie at the Rainbow Bridge.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Kenneth (Frank) Starr, Esther Starr and Rodney Miller all of Lock Haven and her Uncle John Starr who she will finally meet in Heaven.

Funeral Services for Erin Elizabeth Miller will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Gedon Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC. 121 W. Main St., Lock Haven. Officiating will be Pastor Taylor Camerer of the Great Island Presbyterian Church.   Family and friends will be received in the funeral home Monday afternoon from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Mill Hall.
