Keystone 9-11 All-Stars Outlast Upper Providence 12-11

key-base-logoMOUNT UNION – It was another nail-biter finish for the Keystne 9-11 All-Stars as they outlasted Upper Providence 12-11 in the PA Little League State Chamioship tournament.

Keystone held a 11-3 lead going into the last inning and pulled starting pitcher, Cru Stover when he was at 65 on the pitch count so he could be available sooner for future games. Ashton Probst then came on for 20 pitches followed by Ben Herrick for 20 more to close out the game. In all, the trio combined for seven strikeouts and held off the late UP rally.

From the batter’s box, it was business as usual for Keystone with Luke Simcox, Matt Conklin, Blaze King, Ashton Probst and Ben Herrick all going yard. King also had a pair of base hits to his credit. Cru Stover and Kelvin Probst each had a double and a single while Chase Brush pounded out a pair of base hits.

Next, Keystone will face the winner of today’s Red Land vs Lionville game tomorrow, Sunday, July 31 at 1 p.m.
