Myers and Walker silence Shore bats in 7-2 Central Mountain victory
By Bees O’Brien
JERSEY SHORE- Central Mountain pitchers Brady Myers and Blake Walker would come up huge in their Heartland showdown with rival Jersey Shore on Wednesday. The pair would combine on 10 strikeouts, allow just 2 hits, as the host Bulldogs could only score 2 runs the entire game.
The visiting Wildcats fell behind following a Hunter Enders’ two-run home run to give Shore a 2-1 lead.
Central Mountain wasted very little time in reclaiming the lead with a three-run top of the third inning to take a 4-2 lead into the game’s final three innings.
The Wildcats would plate a run in the sixth and a final pair of insurance runs in the top of the seventh, as the host Bulldogs had no answer for Walker who was in relief of Myers.
Gardy Fravel led CM with a pair of hits. Malaki Moyd also collected a pair of hits, along with a two-hit performance from Kevin Grenninger. Thomas Sprague added a double and both Blake Walker and Isaiah Maldonado chipped in with a hit each.
Jersey Shore dropped to 8-8 on the season, while the Wildcats improved to 11-3.
Central Mountain will next be in action on Friday when they host Shikellamy.
