William J. “Peanut” Ross

William J. “Peanut” Ross, 74, of Renovo passed away Wednesday morning, May 25, 2016 at Bucktail Medical Center, South Renovo.

He was born Sept., 14, 1941 in North Bend a son of the late William C. and Mary P. (Dugal) Ross.

Peanut was married to the former Sylvia J. Spangler. They celebrated 19 years of marriage together.

He worked for Hammermill. He was a member of the American Legion, Sons of Italy and the Eagles all of Renovo.

He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing cards he also coached softball and baseball.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He served in the Army from 1961 –1963.

Surviving are his wife; one son John M. Ross of Renovo and two stepsons Tom Newman of Mill Hall and Terry Newman of Franklin and two stepdaughters Crystal Kitchen of Lock Haven and Buffy Dersham of Jersey Shore.

Two granddaughters and three nephews William, Michael and Thomas also survive.

Two sisters Mary Jane Smolko and Judy McCool both of Renovo survive him.

A son Jimmy Ross preceded him in death.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Contributions can be made to the family.

Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Hyner.
