BALD EAGLE TOWNSHIP – In an effort to celebrate Earth Day and make a positive impact in our community, the Public Relations Committee within Central Mountain High School’s Student Government registered with Great American PA Clean-Up and spent Earth Day weekend cleaning up litter from school grounds and surrounding areas. Their theme was “All Roads Lead to Our School”. A total of 20 students participated and were chaperoned by faculty Mrs. Rebecca Dilley, Ms. Deb Moore, Ms. Heather Boyle, and Ms. Angela Harding.

Students leading the charge were committee members Jolene McCluskey, Macy Akeley, Becky Piergallini, and Rachael Weaver. The students divided into four groups and each worked in a different section of the community. Litter was picked up around Central Mountain High School, Keystone Central Drive, Route 150, Bald Eagle Boat Launch, Central Mountain Middle School, Mill Hall Elementary, all athletic fields, Kyler Avenue, Peale Avenue, and Hogan Boulevard. The pick up yielded over 30 bags of garbage, 6 tires, and other large, miscellaneous items including a shopping cart, a carpet, tarp, and metal.
