Can spring be far behind? …

That’s the question Debra Proctor of Bellefonte is asking. She writes: “Could it be that spring is right around the corner? I woke up today, Sunday, to see in the field behind my house a whole lot of robins!! I even got the binoculars out to make sure that they were indeed robins that I was looking at.

Rumor Has It …

Rumor has it, not a clue if it’s true, but the rumors are all over that Dr. Berlot has been let go at Bucktail Medical Center. The word I’ve been hearing is that the board of directors had no say in the decision that they didn’t know about it until after the fact. Dr. Berlot has been at Bucktail for 15 years.

Immix service has been available and some others. More may be on the horizon, via Verizon. On Monday (Feb.3),Verizon workers said they were on their way up Boone Road to start work on the new Verizon tower and if all goes as planned we should have Verizon cell service in Renovo in approximately eight 8 weeks. They offered no promises.

Sasquatch here? …

I heard recently that some bears with the mange have been sighted in the Hyner area, and that they resemble Big Foot. I asked a prominent Hyner citizen who while admitting seeing a huge bear would not go on record that is was Sasquatch.

More than likely it was not. A noted area outdoorsman said bears with mange are not unusual. If more are sighted it may be because the bear population is record high. The more bears, the more the likelihood of seeing bears with mange.
