cm-baseballSUNBURY — Central Mountain got pushed around for a while in a Heartland Conference showdown at Shikellamy today and while the Braves put up five runs against coach Mike Kramer’s team, the CM offense came through, the result a 10-5 triumph for the now 12-1Wildcats.

The win put Central Mountain at 8-0 in the Heartland and dropped the second place Braves to 6-2 in conference play, 9-3 overall.

Wildcat senior Toner Corl went the distance for his fourth complete game win in four starts. But he was touched up for three first inning runs before finding his rhythm, ending with an 8-hitter, two of the Braves’ five runs unearned; Corl struck out seven and walked three.

Junior Brandon Miller provided the offense early with an RBI double and an RBI triple. But Shik hung tough, the game tied 3-3 heading into the top of the fifth. Central Mountain would explode for five runs: Corl started things with a walk, Alex Garbrick singled, Talon Falls drove both in with a single; Isaac Porter singled and Cole Reeder knocked in two more with a double.

The Wildcats’ 14 hit attack was led by Porter’s three singles; Corl and Garbrick each with two singles; Miller with his double and triple; Falls, Wyatt Koch and Austyn Carson with singles; and Reeder with his double and single.

Central Mountain has now won 11 games in a row. The Wildcats will attempt to complete a 12-0 April in their final game of the month at Mifflinburg (5-4) on Friday.
