Lady Eagles at Millersville Saturday for PSAC

lhu-hoops LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University women’s basketball team is headed back to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament.

LHU, the PSAC East’s No. 6 seed will travel to No. 3 seed Millersville on Saturday, February 27 for PSAC First Round Tournament action. Tip is set for 1 p.m.

The Bald Eagles are making back-to-back PSAC Tournament appearances, something they haven’t done since the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons. Those playoff runs capped a brilliant stretch of LHU women’s basketball in the late 80’s and early 90’s, which saw eight straight PSAC Tournament appearances from Lock Haven. Saturday will mark LHU’s 10th all-time PSAC playoff run.

LHU finished the regular season at 11-15 and was 8-14 in PSAC play.

Lysa Mealing has been the story all season. She averages 8.9 points per game and her 13.5 rebounds per game were the most by any player in the PSAC during the regular season. Mealing’s 13.5 rebounds per game are currently tops in all of NCAA Division II women’s hoops.

Rookie Jalyn Shelton-Burleigh, winner of two, of the last three, PSAC East Freshman of the Week awards has elevated her game down the stretch and should be a huge factor on Saturday.

LHU head coach Jennifer Smith has benefitted from solid scoring production from Mackenzie Livingston and J.J. Hilliard, who average 10.5 and 10.3 points per game, respectively.

Millersville is 18-8 overall and went 14-8 in PSAC play.
