Goodwill New Tenant at former Weis Market Location
RENOVO — Goodwill of Northcentral Pennsylvania will be utilizing Renovo’s old Weis Market building to serve as the company’s 23rd store serving 13 north central counties.
Goodwill chief financial officer Tom Glasl confirmed this week that the service company will open its second Clinton County operation at the former Weis location in the west end of Renovo. He said property owner Hutchinson Realty of Williamsport is renovating the site to be done by early April. Speaking from company headquarters in Falls Creek, Glasl said May 15 is the anticipated start-up date in Renovo.
Glasl said the company is “ecstatic” to locate in Renovo, calling the western Clinton County borough “a great community.” He said the new store will create some seven to ten jobs. It will join a similar store at Clinton Plaza off Walnut St. in Lock Haven as the firm’s second county storefront.
According to company website information, Goodwill was founded in 1902 in Boston by a Methodist minister, Rev. Edgar J. Helms. It provides job training and employment placement services and other community based programs “for people with disabilities.”
