F.J. “Rick” Santucci, 66, of Lock Haven passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife and children. Rick succumbed to a lifetime battle with congestive heart failure, complicated in recent years by cancer and diabetes.

Rick was born December 21, 1949 in Sayre, Pennsylvania, as the third of five children to the late Fred and Mary (Meade) Santucci. He graduated from the University of Maryland’s engineering program and soon after obtained his license as a Professional Engineer. Rick’s career as a civil engineer focused primarily in project management of locks and dam construction and remediation of superfund projects. In retirement, he established a mental health practice, Keystone Counseling and Evaluation Services, with wife and therapist Donna D. Santucci.

Rick met and married his wife Donna while working in Mississippi in 1980. Believing neither could have children, they were quite surprised to discover they were expecting with their first child, Davis, less than one year after being married. Rick and Donna went on to build a family and life together, with son Patrick and daughter Sarah soon following, that spanned 36 years of love and devotion. In Rick’s final year, he was most comforted by the presence of his grandson, Mason Santucci.

Known for his optimism and kindness, Rick always thought the best of people and relished in the success of others. He was a true champion of people, especially those in need of a helping hand. He always tried to show his children the best in this world through his own example, leading a life of generosity, kindness and gentleness toward any who came in his contact.

Rick is survived by wife Donna D. Santucci; children Davis Santucci, Patrick Santucci, Sarah Santucci Barclay and Jacob Barclay; grandson Mason Santucci; and siblings Mary Ann Woodzelle, Joe Santucci, Michael Santucci and Nancy Santucci.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 310 W. Water St., Lock Haven, Pa 17745 with Rev. Father Joseph Orr officiating.

Friends and family will be received on Monday evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, Pa 17745.
