Sylvia M. Vaughn

Sylvia M. Vaughn, 73, of Woolrich, left her earthly home to reunite with her beloved husband Donald on Saturday, November 28, 2015.  She had spent that day having a delayed Thanksgiving with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  She was born in Lycoming County on December 1, 1941 to Oliver Guy and Bessie Gertrude Bower.

Sylvia graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1959 and spent many years in the retail clothing industry retiring from the Woolrich Outlet Store.  She had a great sense of style and enjoyed helping her customers coordinate the perfect ensemble.

She leaves a legacy to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of strong family values and work ethic.  She wanted always for us to make time to spend together and for us to have a purpose and goal for each day, no matter how large or small.

Sylvia is survived by her children, Susan (Lynn) Lunger, and Janette Ingraham; her grandchildren Arthur Shaffer, Grant Young, Travis Young, Silver Young Burkholder, Ashley (Matthew) Williams, Leighann (Justin) Medlin; and great-grandchildren Sharlotte Wolford, Elleanora Young, and Miles Williams.  She is also survived by sister Betty McCauley, and brothers Ray and Walter Bower and numerous nieces and nephews and their children.  Sylvia particulary enjoyed the weekly lunches with her sister Betty, Betty’s daughter Selena, grand-daughter Rachel, and great-granddaughter Paige.

Visitation to honor the life of Sylvia will be held on Friday, Decamber 4, 2015 beginning at 9am at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc. , 231 High Street, Flemington, with a funeral service at 11am , the Reverend Alan Eckenroad officiating.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Sylvia’s name.
