Huskies Edge Eagles 19-16
LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (2-4) won four of 10 bouts and picked up bonus points in a pair of matches, but fell to 0-2 in Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) action in a 19-16 home mat loss to rival Bloomsburg last Thursday.
The match was tied 16-16 heading into the night’s final bout and No. 19 Justin Grant sealed the team victory for Bloomsburg (3-2).
No. 20 Dan Neff (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco), Mac Maldarelli (Merrick, N.Y./Nassau C.C.), Jake Kemerer(Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) and No. 15 Fred Garcia (Donora, Pa./Ringgold) all won for Lock Haven tonight in front of a large “Community Night” crowd sponsored by the Lock Haven Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club 4298; admission was free.
Lock Haven also hosted the Central Mountain and Philipsburg-Osceola junior high and varsity matches prior the Lock Haven – Bloomsburg match. Both varsity head coaches are Lock Haven graduates.
Much to the delight of the home crowd, Neff scored a late third-period takedown for a win at 141 and Maldarelli continued his hot streak with a pin at 149.

The Huskies made it two in a row after Nick Wilcox, ranked No. 16 by InterMat took down Cody Wheeler (Towanda, Pa./Towanda) 7-4.
