Budstock Renovo Jam Band Lineup

RENOVO – More than dozen musicians are slated to appear at the upcoming Budstock Renovo Jam on Saturday, Aug. 29.

The Greater Renovo Area Heritage Park committee is sponsoring the music fest event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bud & The Dynamics.

Musicians slated for the event include: John Deeghan is coming into Renovo from Florida and will sit in with the Dynamics. Deeghan was a drum student of Hallberg’s. He also played drums with the Dynamics in 1970 and 1971.

Other bands and musicians tapped for the day-long music fest include: The Back Porch String Band from the Howard area; Bill and Gro Fatula, well-known brass players from the SOS band of the State College area; Molly Corman of the State College area, did vocals, keyboard with the Dynamics and the SOS bands; and Renovo area musicians: Mitch Gavlock, guitarist and vocalist who is a regular at the Black Forest Inn, Last Man Standing, Captain Ken, Drocton Hill and the 7th Street Praise Band. Also slated are Brad & Brittany of Lock Haven; sax player Duane Eberhart and his group, Midnight Passage of the State College area; the Lockport Drifters; Damn Dawgs, a five piece band and vocals; Phil Reeder of the Lock Haven area; Jinx Bratton of the Renovo area; Phase II, a spin off band from the Dynamics featuring Wayne Stoltz, Ron Jones, Kelley Whitty and Jim Franklin; North Bend musician Gordy Scrimshaw and others.

Dynamics founder Bud Hallberg still leads the group and co-founder, Paul “Flip” Mills of Howard also continues to play and sing with the band on occasion. Original members Ron Jones, Wayne Stoltz and Gary Eberhard continue to keep the band going. Another original member, Danny McGowan is with the band in memory; he passed away a few years ago.
