Piper Aviation Museum Receives Airplane Donation

LOCK HAVEN-The Piper Aviation Museum has received yet another aircraft donation. Mrs. Theresa Moretti of Cranston, RI made the generous donation of her husband’s 1946 Piper Cub. It took several months of waiting for good weather, but this week museum president Ron Dremel and museum volunteers Chris Logue and Frank Watson flew to Quonset State Airport in Rhode Island to accept the airplane and fly it home. Chris Logue was the pilot for the Cub and with perfect weather and a 6 am launch he brought the plane back to it’s birthplace with only one fuel stop along the way. The Cub is now on display in the first floor of the museum. The Piper Aviation Museum, located at One Piper Way in Lock Haven is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 pm.
