LHU’s Kapusta named MAC East Men’s Wrestler of the Week
CLEVELAND, Ohio – No. 23 Lucas Kapusta (149) of the Lock Haven men’s wrestling team was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Eastern Division Wrestler of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
The Bald Eagles opened 2026 in style by going 2-0 with wins over Binghamton and Princeton on Sunday and Kapusta led the way.
Kapusta led Lock Haven to a perfect 2-0 week with dominant victories over Binghamton (27-9) and Princeton (28-6) at the Journeymen Armbar.
Kapusta, ranked No. 23 at 149 pounds, earned an upset victory over Princeton’s No. 9 Elijah Rivera with a 5-2 decision. He also earned a decision vs. Binghamton to improve to 13-3 on the year.
After the 2-0 weekend, Lock Haven improved to 4-3 on the season.
