Wildcats Boys Tennis Falls to Shikellamy, 4-1
SUNBURY – The Central Mountain boys JV/Varsity tennis team traveled to Shikellamy on Monday afternoon and came up short, falling 4-1.
The Wildcats’ lone win came in the top doubles spot, where the team of Brayden Spedding and Mitchell Borges secured a straight-set victory over Andrew Zelnick, 6-4, 6-3.
In singles play, Joey McCluskey dropped a 2-6, 3-6 match to Jack Weaver in the No. 1 spot. Tim Brinker battled in a hard-fought three-setter at No. 2, taking the second set 6-2 but ultimately falling 2-6, 6-2, 5-7 to Austin Delgado. Wesley Cowart competed at No. 3 singles, falling 4-6, 3-6 to Griffin Snyder.
In the second doubles match, Ben Brinker and Jeremiah Plummer were defeated 0-6, 2-6 by the Shikellamy duo of Eben Kisner and Riley McDonald.
Central Mountain will look to bounce back when they travel to South Williamsport Area on Thursday.
