Wildcat Baseball Stays Perfect with 10-4 Win at DuBois
DuBOIS – The Central Mountain Wildcats continued their strong start to the 2025 baseball season with a 10-4 road victory over DuBois on Monday afternoon, improving to 3-0 on the year.
The Wildcats used a balanced offensive attack and solid pitching to take control of the game early. Central Mountain scored in five of the seven innings, including two runs in both the second and third, followed by a three-run sixth and two more insurance runs in the seventh. The Wildcats totaled 11 hits and played clean defense with zero errors.
Watt Probst led the charge at the plate, finishing with three hits — a triple, a double, and a single. Felix Oquendo added two hits, while Brady Lavelle, Blake Walker, Malaky Moyd, Nate Wian, Bryce Brungard, and Josh Ludlow each chipped in with one hit.
On the mound, Jase Seltzer got the start, going 2.1 innings and allowing two hits and three runs (three errors) while walking two. Isaiah Maldonado came on in relief and turned in four strong innings, allowing five hits and just one run. He walked one and struck out four. Nate Wian came in to close out the game for the Wildcats.
DuBois was led at the plate by Wingard, who collected two hits. The Beavers scored single runs in the first, third, and seventh innings but were held in check by the Wildcats’ pitching staff for most of the game.
Central Mountain will look to keep their momentum going as they continue a busy stretch on the road this week with a trip to State College Wednesday before going to Punxsutawney Friday.
