Mary “Midge” Kramer Announces Candidacy for Keystone Central School Board
NORTH BEND – Mary “Midge” Kramer Announces Candidacy for Keystone Central School Board, Region IX
Mary Kramer, known to her friends and family as “Midge,” is proud to announce her candidacy for the Keystone Central School District (KCSD) School Board, representing Region IX. This district includes Chapman Township, Gallagher Township, Grugan Township, Leidy Township, Noyes Township, Renovo Borough, South Renovo Borough, and Stewardson in Potter County.
Mary and her husband, Albert Kramer, a 1988 graduate of Bucktail High School, retired to North Bend in 2017. Together, they raise their seven-year-old son, who is currently in first grade at Renovo Elementary School.
An advocate for all children, Mary has a proven track record of stepping up for her community. When the local school district decided not to hold a kindergarten graduation ceremony for the 2023/2024 school year, she, along with a group of passionate parents and community members, took action. Their efforts led to a memorable event where over 250 parents, family members, and friends gathered to celebrate the achievements of the kindergarten graduates.
In addition to her involvement with local schools, Mary is the organizational leader of North Bend 4-H and Cloverbuds. She has served Clinton County 4-H for three years and expanded the program to North Bend two years ago. Under her leadership, the club has grown to include 9 Penn State-approved volunteers and 23 registered participants ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. She has also served on the Renovo Elementary PTO for the past two years.
If Mary isn’t busy organizing community events for kids, she’s likely working on a project to benefit the youth or the community as a whole. She serves on several local boards, always looking for ways to improve and plan for the future. Mary has consistently used her voice to advocate for children, speaking out at every opportunity, including addressing the school board earlier this year.
Mary states, “I’m not a politician, and I’ve always believed that a school board should not be political. I want to serve the community and do what’s best for our kids. I want to provide the best opportunities for student success so that, by the time they graduate, they are equipped to succeed in whatever path they choose in life.”
Above all, Mary is committed to restoring trust and transparency to the school board. She believes it’s crucial for the board to listen to the community, valuing every opinion. “Everyone’s voice matters,” she says. “I want to ensure that people feel heard, not just for four minutes at a meeting, but that their input is truly considered in decision-making.”
Mary’s candidacy is about bringing fresh perspectives, fostering transparency, and working together to create a brighter future for all students in Keystone Central School District.
