Leslie Clukey Announces Run for County Treasurer
LOCK HAVEN – Leslie Clukey has announced her candidacy for the office of Clinton County Treasurer. She will be seeking the Republican nomination in the May 2025 Primary election for a four-year term.
Leslie has been employed in banking with First Commonwealth Bank and its predecessors for the past 38 years. She started out as a part-time teller, moved up to full-time teller, was promoted to a manager’s position in 2009, and became a corporate vice-president in 2016.
Leslie has worked in every aspect of banking from basic day-to-day interactions with clients to working with both small and large businesses and various government entities. Leslie has assisted individuals with the completion of their annual tax forms and is a certified notary. She considers her greatest accomplishment as knowing that she has been able to help improve the financial lives of so many of her clients.
Leslie has advised clients regarding investments, lending, and long-term financial goals. She held a series 6 and 63 license, required by the State of Pennsylvania to sell securities within the State. She also held an insurance license while advising and investing funds for her clients. Leslie looks forward to applying her extensive experience, prior investment, and financial management skills to benefit Clinton County and its citizens.
As Clinton County Treasurer Leslie will be in a position to help ensure that good financial practices are in place, financial reports are accurate and readily available by their due dates to help county officials make wise financial decisions.
A life-long learner, Leslie has always sought training available to help expand her personal and her staff members’ knowledge and competence for the jobs they are doing. When elected, Leslie will attend any training the County Treasurer position requires in order to remain up-to-date on laws and regulations.
“I am running for Clinton County Treasurer to use my decades of financial experience and bookkeeping, organizational, and management skills to competently serve Clinton County government departments. I will be there for the people of Clinton County as well to personally assist them through their questions and concerns. I am dedicated and responsible, have a strong work ethic and excellent, proven customer service and communication skills. I consistently give 150% to any task my job entails. When elected, I will be in the office fulltime every day. I will work to the best of my ability to ensure that good financial practices and checks and balances are in place and that the County Treasurer’s office operates in a timely manner and to its fullest potential,” said Clukey.
A life-long resident of Clinton County, Leslie attended McGee Elementary School, is a 1983 graduate of Lock Haven High School, and attended the Williamsport Area Community College.
Her parents, Deanna K. (Vuocolo) VanGorder and the late Jack K. VanGorder, were both born and raised in Lock Haven. Leslie has two brothers, Scott VanGorder and Jack VanGorder, both in Lock Haven, and one sister, Shelly McKernan, who lives in Williamsport.
Leslie is the mother of two grown sons, Ryan (wife Tosh) and Gavin Clukey (wife Jordan), and is blessed with three wonderful granddaughters, ages 5, 3, and 20 months.
Leslie is a member of Lock Haven Kiwanis. She has served on the board of directors of Downtown Lock Haven and Clinton County United Way. Leslie currently serves on the board of the Infant Development Program. She is a 2001-2002 alumnus of Leadership Clinton County.
Leslie is a volunteer with Precise for Paws, Salvation Army, and the Infant Development Program and has participated in RWB events to honor military veterans. Her hobbies include cooking, spending time with her family, and hiking with PA Trail Dogs.
