LHU Swimming competes on day one of the Wooster Invite
WOOSTER, Ohio – The Lock Haven swim team kicked off its week in Wooster, Ohio by competing on day one at the Wooster Invite on Thursday, Dec. 5.
The Wooster Invite is a three-day event hosted inside The College of Wooster’s Ellen Shapiro Natatorium.
The Bald Eagles finished day one with 161 team points.
In the morning prelim session, Holly Cleworth finished seventh in a field of 40 athletes in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:22.85. Nora Craig placed 19th with a time of 5:42.26.
Cleworth bested her prelim time in the finals by .17 seconds to place seventh overall in the event.
In the 200-yard individual medley prelim, Emma Pequignot (2:21.29) and Sydney Houck (2:21.56) finished 14th and 15th, respectively. Makenzie Eades placed 22nd with a time of 2:26.87. In the finals, Pequignot placed 12th (2:20.22) and Houck finished 16th (2:24.51).
Nine Bald Eagles competed in the 50-yard freestyle and Alaina Cane led the way with an overall finish of 21st, with a time of 26.19 in the finals.
The top Bald Eagle relay came in the 400-medley, where The Haven team of Houck, Cleworth, Pequignot and Madison Bortner finished 10th with a time of 4:13.29.

The Bald Eagles return to Wooster’s Ellen Shapiro Natatorium tomorrow (Friday, Dec. 6) at 10 a.m. to compete on day two of the Wooster Invite.
