LHU Football lands three on All-PSAC East Team, Young and Hicks named to First Team
LOCK HAVEN – Chris Hicks and T’iar Young were named to the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Football Eastern Division First Team and Edward Leak was named to the Second Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 20).
The team is nominated for and voted on by the league’s head coaches.
T’iar Young was named a First Team wide receiver, Chris Hicks was named a First Team tight end and Edward Leak was tabbed a Second Team offensive guard.
Young earned his first all-conference honor after producing one of the top seasons in NCAA DII at receiver. The redshirt junior finished the season with the PSAC No. 1 marks in receiving yards (1,146), receiving yards-per-game (104.2) and receiving touchdowns (11). The 11 TDs tied the all-time single season record for receiving touchdowns and the 1,146 yards are the second-most in school history for a single season.
Young went over 100-yards receiving in seven games and hauled in a touchdown in every game but three. He also caught two touchdowns in three different games.
Hicks also earned his first all-conference honor as he was tabbed the top tight end in the Eastern Division. Hicks started in 10 games and finished the 2024 season with 31 catches for 377 yards and four touchdowns. The graduate student caught a pair of touchdowns in the victory over Shippensburg and went over 100 yards receiving against West Chester. Hicks caught four touchdowns in four games to end the season.
Leak started all 11 games on the offensive line as a guard and helped the Bald Eagles mold into the top passing attack in the conference. Starting with the men up front, The Haven led the PSAC in passing touchdowns (27), passing yards (3203) and yards per game (291.2). The Bald Eagles also rushed for over 100 yards in six game, while racking up a season-high 270 yards in the win over Glenville State.
The trio helped Lock Haven closed the season on a two-game win streak to finish at 5-6 overall after going 3-4 in PSAC East action.
Last season (2023), when Lock Haven won five games, it stood as the Bald Eagles first five-win season in 42 years (1982). Now, The Haven has posted 10 wins in two seasons, the most victories in a two-year stretch since Lock Haven won 11 in 1981 (6) and 1982 (5).
