Lady Wildcats Volleyball Ready for District VI 3A Tournament After Win Against Tyrone
MILL HALL-The Central Mountain Lady Wildcats volleyball team is coming off a solid win against Tyrone last Wednesday night as they prepare for the start of the PIAA District VI 3A Girls Volleyball Tournament. Central Mountain, having secured the number one seed, will face Bellefonte in the semifinal match on Monday, October 28, at 7:00 p.m. The game will be held at Central Mountain High School’s gymnasium, and The Record-Online will be providing a live stream of the event.
In addition to the Central Mountain-Bellefonte matchup, the District VI bracket features the number two seed Hollidaysburg squaring off against number three seed Somerset, also on Monday night. The winners of both semifinal matches will meet in the district championship on Wednesday, October 30, at a site to be determined.
The Lady Wildcats hold a strong 12-2 record in district-counted matches, while their overall season record stands at 22-6. It’s important to note that matches at tournaments that do not go to three sets are not counted in district play. Other teams in the tournament include Hollidaysburg with a district record of 16-2, Somerset at 12-4, and Bellefonte with a 6-11 record.
As the number one seed, Central Mountain is aiming to continue their dominance in the district and advance to the championship game with hopes of securing a district title.
