LHU Women’s Soccer drops 2-0 decision vs. Kutztown

LOCK HAVEN – The Lock Haven women’s soccer team fell to Kutztown, 2-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at Hubert Jack Stadium on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 12).

In the first half, Kutztown scored the lone goal, coming in the 15th minute of action and carried a 1-0 lead heading into the break.

The Bald Eagles’ defense played strong in the half, as KU held a 5-2 shot and 4-0 corner kick advantage.

Lock Haven’s defense held strong for the opening 35 minutes of the second half, but KU scored an insurance goal in the 78th minute, before closing out the shutout victory.

In net, Lock Haven goalkeeper Megan Miller finished with three saves in 80 minutes. Haley Jamison closed out the final 10 minutes of the game.

On the attack, Lock Haven finished with four shots, led by two from Leana Cuzzocrea.

With the result, the Lock Haven moves to 1-7-3 overall and 1-7-1 in the PSAC East. Kutztown remains in second place in the Eastern Division after improving to 7-1-3 overall and 5-1-3 in conference play.
