Wildcats Battle Heat and Humidity in Non-League Golf Match Against Altoona
ALTOONA – The Central Mountain Wildcat golf team hit the road for a non-league match against Altoona at Park Hills Country Club on Wednesday. Despite a valiant effort, Altoona emerged victorious with a score of 471, edging out the Wildcats, who posted a 501. This match featured a unique format, with each team playing nine players and counting their best six scores.
Altoona’s Kai Hillegas earned match medalist honors with an impressive score of 74. Leading the Wildcats was Jamison Beachy, who shot an 80, followed closely by Stevan Fisher with an 81 and Evan Walker with an 82.
Reflecting on the day, Coach Lodek noted, “It was a day of tough conditions with the heat and humidity. With this being a non league match teams played a modified format.”
