Evans earns second Women’s Basketball PSAC East Athlete of the Week honor

LOCK HAVEN– Double-double queen Madeline Evans of the Lock Haven women’s basketball team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Athlete of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon (Dec. 8).

Evans earned her second PSAC East Athlete of the Week honor of the season, after bringing home the award following the second week of the season.

Evans kicked off the week with 16 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and two steals to lead the Bald Eagles to a 64-41 win over Roberts Wesleyan.

She followed with her sixth straight double-double of the season in the battle vs. Edinboro and finished with 17 points, 12 rebounds a block and a steal.

Evans has secured a double-double in every game of the season and is averaging 17.8 points and 14.3 rebounds per game.

The junior leads the conference in rebounds per game, total rebounds (86) and offensive rebounds (37).

Lock Haven returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17 (2 p.m.) and will travel to Seton Hill for a PSAC East vs. West crossover battle.
