New Twist with Poker Run Golf Tournament Supports Local Students
The Keystone Central Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports the students of Keystone Central School District, relies on its annual golf tournament as its signature fundraising event to award classroom mini-grants, special funding requests, and scholarships throughout the school year.
This year’s tournament will have a whole new look, feel and location. On Friday, August 16 at Belles Springs, golfers will tee off at 8 AM for an 18-hole scramble. Registration includes green fees, cart, grab and go breakfast, keg beer, door prizes, entry into the poker run, and a picnic lunch.
“We always try to find a new twist to our tournaments to bring out more golfers. We’re excited to have West Pharmaceuticals join us as a signature Poker Run sponsor this year,” said Melissa Bottorf, Executive Director of the Foundation. Golfers will pick up cards from our volunteer dealers throughout the course. Back at the clubhouse, golfers can choose to hold their cards or pay to draw new cards. The poker run theme will also include a Poker “Chipping” Challenge with gift card prizes and Joker Tees where foursomes can choose to tee off closer to the hole.
Traditional tournament games such as the longest drive, closest to the pin and the putting contest have been incorporated into the day too with a little poker flair.
Sponsorships and foursomes are available by visiting their website at www.kcfoundation.com or by contacting them at keystonecentralfoundation@gmail.com or 570-660-1306.
The Keystone Central Foundation would like to thank many local businesses for their sponsorships and donations, but they are especially grateful to the following organizations for their signature sponsorships this year: West Pharmaceuticals, Susquehanna Trailways, KingSpry, Ron and Jo Ann Bowes, RCC Mechanical, Terrapin, and ESS.
