Shore avenges 10-inning loss to CM with 11-0 win

JERSEY SHORE-Back on April 23 Jersey Shore and Central Mountain met in Mill Hall in one of the best played games of the 2024 season. Their rematch at Jersey Shore on Saturday morning was anything but that.
The host Lady Bulldogs would ride the arm of freshman Lexi Frey, meanwhile Central Mountain’s top hurler Adalynn McKeague would only last just one inning. McKeague did record her 500th career strikeout, but the Lady Wildcats’ senior found things rough against a highly dangerous Jersey Shore offense that approached the plate with reckless abandon.
Shore racked up 5 runs in the first inning against McKeague off of three hits. McKeague also allowed 3 free passes before being relieved by freshman Camdyn Weaver.
Weaver would silence the Lady Bulldogs in the second inning, but this tenacious offense would eventually catch up to her in the bottom of the third inning.
Jersey Shore’s lead would grow to 10-0 following a 5-run third inning and they would add another run the very next inning to expand their lead to 11-0.
Ava Doyle accounted for Central Mountain’s lone hit against Frey. Doyle’s fourth inning single would be Central Mountain’s only base hit. Frey used her defense well, but did strike out four hitters.
Lenna Clark led Jersey Shore by going 3 for 3 on the day and Frey helped her own cause by going 2 for 2 on the day with an RBI. Dani Miller would add a double and Emma Pfirman collected 3 hits in the win.
Jersey Shore racked up 10 hits on the day and have played themselves into a three-way Heartland Conference tie with Central Mountain and Shikellamy. They can wrap up the league title with a win over Shik on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats also have a shot at a tie in the Heartland by beating Danville on Tuesday and a Jersey Shore win over Shikellamy, which will force a three-way championship tie.
