Lady Wildcats fall to State College Area 4 – 0
STATE COLLEGE-The temps in State College may have been in the 80’s for the State College vs Central Mountain softball game, but Wildcat bats were anything but hot.
After a scoreless first inning, State College took the lead in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by State College pitcher Addie Harpster. After a scoreless third inning, State College added another run when a Wildcat error allowed a runner to reach and advance to second base. The next batter hit into a fielder’s choice that allowed the runner to reach home. In the in the bottom of the sixth inning, Harpster got on base on her third hit of the day and was drivenin two batters later on the second State College home run of the game.
Central Mountain’s lone hit was a signle to the right side in the fifth inning.
Camdyn Weaver pitch 5-1/3 innings for the Wildcats facing 22 batter and allowing four runs on six hits. She struck out 5, walked one and hit one batter, Addie McKeague came in to get the final two outs of the game and both were set down by strike out.
Central Mountain is scheduled to play Danville on Tuesday at Danville.
