Sugar Valley drops 11-0 home game against a solid Northwest squad
By Bees O’Brien
LOCK HAVEN- The Northwest Rangers are one of the very best in the Mid Penn Conference. On Monday afternoon Sugar Valley would find out just how good the D4 2A squad is.
The effort was there from the Phoenix, but their 6 hits wouldn’t be enough against a Rangers team that would pound out 13 hits and score 11 runs in just five innings.
Northwest’s 5-run top of the third inning would take any upset chances away from SVRC, resulting in an 11-0 Rangers’ victory.
Sugar Valley (0-5) would get a multiple hit day from senior Lance Winchester. Winchester continued his strong season with a double and a single. Caden Weaver, Lincoln Breon and Laydon Bryan would also have base hits for the Phoenix.
Sugar Valley will now turn around on Tuesday afternoon and return the favor with a road trip to Northwest.
