Obituary – Randall S. Dixon
Randall S. Dixon, 80, of Lock Haven, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 25, 2024.
Born September 8, 1943 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late George W. and Evelyn Shaffer Dixon.
Following graduation from Lock Haven High School, Randy was employed at Piper Aircraft, Hammermill Paper Company, Widmann Drug Store, and Coleman’s Landscape before retiring from Keystone Central School District.
Randy was a talented drummer and a member of the local rock band “The Backbeats.” He was honored to have had the opportunity to play the drums for Chuck Berry. He was also the founder and operator of the “Peppermint Twist Lounge” located on Bald Eagle Street.
He is survived by two nieces, Susan L. (Frank) Hanna and Dawn M. Kahle, both of Lock Haven; two special great-nephews who were devoted to his care over the past several months, Travis and Jarret Kahle, both of Lock Haven; and several other nieces and nephews to great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, JoAnn Boyce; and a nephew, Kenny Boyce.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington, PA 17745.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Central Mountain High School Music Department or UPMC Hospice.
