LHU Swimming competes on day three at the PSAC Championships
CARLISLE – Thee Lock Haven women’s swimming team returned for the third day at the 2023-24 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship at the Keystone Aquatics Center in Carlisle, Pa. on Friday (Feb. 16).
The Bald Eagles put together another strong showing that featured a pair of athletes who reached the finals in their individual events.
Through three days at the championship meet, the Bald Eagles have already surpassed their team total points from all of last season.
Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) was electric in the morning session and qualified for the finals in the 100-yard breaststroke with a personal-best swim of 1:07.71. She returned for the night session and earned 14th in the finals with another impressive swim of 1:07.3 (PR).
Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) also earned a trip to the night session by qualifying for the 200-yard butterfly finals with a 2:18.87 swim in the prelims to place 21st. Pequignot returned for the finals during the night session and finished 21st overall (2:20.41).
Holly Cleworth (Cape Town, Western Cape; South Africa/Springfield Convent of the Holy Rosary) just missed the top-25 in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.70.
