LHU Swimming competes on day one at the PSAC Championships

CARLISLE – The Lock Haven women’s swimming team kicked off the 2023-24 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship at the Keystone Aquatics Center in Carlisle, Pa.

The Bald Eagles closed out the day in style, dropping 10 seconds off their seed time in the 800-meter relay with a finish of 8:18.18 (12th). The team of Holly Cleworth (Cape Town, Western Cape; South Africa/Springfield Convent of the Holy Rosary) (PR-1:56.04), Noro Craig (Dover, Pa./Dover) (2:04.85), Mackenzie Eades (Derry, Pa./Derry) (2:10.84) and Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) (PR-2:06.72) all secured season-bests in the race.

Alana Cane (Bellefonte, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) and Sydney Houck (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon) kicked off their conference meet with personal-best swims in the 50-yard freestyle prelims. Cane led the way with a time of 25.82, while Houck finished in 25.97.

Emma Pequignot (Dover, Pa./Dover) competed in the 200-yard individual medley (2:19.80).

Craig and Eades secured collegiate-best times in the 50-yard freestyle time trial.

The Bald Eagles return for day two of the PSAC Women’s Swimming Championships tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 14) at the Keystone Aquatics Center.
