Persun Breaks Record – Lady Wildcats With Strong 2nd Place Finish
WILLIAMSPORT-The Central Mountain girls swim team competed in the 2024 Coaches Invitational today finishing in 2nd place with 260 points out of 15 teams. Williamsport took home the top spot with 401 points.
Coach Scott Bair said, ” It was a fantastic meet for the Wildcats. There were many PR’s, district qualifying times, and school records broken. Ana Persun was on fire today for the Wildcats. In her first event, she dropped 8.77 seconds to win the 200 Free over 2nd place Emma Gerlinski of Lewisburg. Persun saved her best swim for last as she rocked the 100 Fly re-breaking her school record in 1:00.45.”
Persun finished behind Kendall Cohick by .21 to finish in 2nd place. In the 100 Breaststroke, Camryn Bair took home the gold in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:09.24. Her teammate Gabriella Hosley finished just behind her in 1:12.87. Maia Crowell also swam the 100 Breatstroke for the Wildcats and made a district qualifying cut with a huge PR of 1:21.57. Bair also finished in 2nd place in the 50 Free in 24.41.
In the 200 IM, Gabriella Hosley swam to a 2nd place finish in 2:23.28. Abrianna Hosley also had a big day for the Wildcats. Abrianna finished 2nd in the 500 Free with a PR of 5:43.85. She would follow that up with another PR in the 100 Back in 1:04.94 finishing 3rd.
The relay team of Bair, G. Hosley, Persun, and A. Hosley finished 2nd in the 200 Medley and 200 Free relays.
The Wildcats will finish up the regular season on Wednesday at LHU against Williamsport at 4:30.
