LHU Women’s Track & Field kicks off weekend of competition with a pair of Friday meets
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Lock Haven women’s indoor track and field team sent its talent to Grand Valley State University and Susquehanna University on Friday, Feb. 9.
The afternoon featured a top-10 program-record finish and several PSAC qualifying marks as the Bald Eagles hit the final stretch before the conference championship.
At Grand Valley State, Aubrey Sechrist (Jersey Shore, Pa./Jersey Shore) was flying in the 600-meter as she just missed the program-record with a time of 1:39.76 to secure the second-fastest time in program history. Sechrist finished ninth out of 36 competitors.
Gwen Lloyd (Red Lion, Pa./Red Lion) led the charge in the 5000-meter run, racing a PSAC qualifying time of 18:03.86.
Reagan Irons (Tyrone, Pa./Tyrone) had another successful afternoon and placed sixth in the high jump with a mark of 5-0.75.
The field events highlighted the meet at Susquehanna, with a pair of athletes placing inside the top-eight.
Clarissa Davis (York, Pa./Central York) led the way in the shot put, placing sixth with a mark of 38-0.
Mallory Eck (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) cracked the top-eight in the weight throw, placing fifth with a toss of 41-5.
