CM Boys Swimming With Strong Win Over Shamokin

COAL TOWNSHIP-The Central Mountain boys swim team picked up their 9th win of the season as they dominated Shamokin 99-49 last evening.  The Wildcats set the tone early going 1-2 in the 200 Medley Relay.

The relay team of Neil Kaluzny, Jonathan Hughes, Cory Matejovich, and Raiden Newcomer won the opening event.  Kaluzny, Hughes, Matejovic, and Newcomer also won the 200 Free Relay later in the meet.  Neil Kaluzny and Cory Matejovich followed that up with a 1-2 finish in the 200 Free.  Kaluzny won with a time of 2:12.13.  Rhys Swift won the 200 IM finishing in 2:28.56.

Swift also won the 500 Free in a new PR time of 5:50.28.  Jonathan Hughes dominated in the 50 free and 100 Fly.  In the 100 Free, it was Wildcat sophomore Newcomer with the victory and new PR of 57.41.  Wildcat teammate Bryce Warren finished in 2nd with a new PR and District Qualifying time of 59.24.  Warren would pick up a victory of his own later in the meet as he won the 100 Breaststroke in 1:18.57.

The Wildcats are having their best season in a long time as they are currently 9-2.  Their final dual meet will be with Williamsport at LHU on 2/14.
