Sutliff stepping down as Bucktail head football coach

By Bees O’Brien

FARWELL- After just two seasons and a ton of accomplishments for the Bucktail program, head coach of the football program Frank Sutliff is stepping down.

Sutliff informed the Bucktail athletic department staff earlier this week of his decision. The decision was made due to the position causing interference with his business and the growth of it has made juggling both a tough task.

Sutliff completely overhauled the Bucktail program during his short tenure. He collected 7 wins in two seasons, which also included a 5-4 regular season this past fall. That season would see Bucktail host their first ever District playoff game.

Part of the Sutliff overhaul was an entirely new offensive game plan. This game plan would see Bucktail be amongst the state leaders in rushing offense. His triple option and wishbone rushing attack was at times almost unstoppable.

“I’d like to thank my fellow coaches, players, parents and supporters over the past two seasons.” Said the departing coach. “I will miss the hot summer days, Friday night lights and having an impact on our student athletes. Go Bucks!”

A replacement has not been named yet, as this announcement is in it’s very early stages. Once news breaks on this developing story we will bring it to our readers on The Record Online.
